Welcome to Camp & Clean! This fall we will be doing a water only cleanup. In this popular event we will get to do a little recreation in our conservation. We will be paddling from the AO Paddle Access to Shallow Ford Natural Area and then camping overnight. On Sunday morning we will paddle the rest of the way to The Valley Golf course paddle access. All along the way we will be picking up trash utilizing extra boats as barges. We will have grabbers and gloves for all participants.

We will have everyone park at the Valley Golf Course and we will shuttle you to begin your paddle at Altamahaw Paddle Access on NC-87. From there you will make your way downriver collecting debris as you go until you make it to your overnight campsite at Shallow Ford Natural Area where you will eat and camp for the night. Sunday morning you will be provided breakfast and then paddle one more leg collecting trash and enjoying the river as you go and ultimately take out at the Valley Paddle Access.

We will help handle all of the logistics of getting your overnight stuff to and from Shallow Ford Natural Area as well as getting to/from parking.

Approximate schedule:

1 PM - We will meet at The Valley Golf Course. Load up boats and get ferried to the put-in at AO. Overnight equipment can be left on the shuttle and will be carried to the campsites at Shallow Ford. We will paddle 2.7 miles or approx. 2 hours to our takeout.

Sunday morning: we will head down river just a short bit and unload their trash at the paddle access at Shallow Ford then head down river to the golf course. We will paddle 4.2 miles or approx. 2 hours to our takeout.
