Don't want to drive to the mountains? Would you rather explore your own local mountain? Join us for a guided backpacking trip at Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area. A truly unique gem in Alamance County, Cane Creek offers diverse, natural ecosystems and a one-of-a-kind view from the top. This will be a great tune-up for longer hikes in the mountains. Make no mistake, this will be a strenuous hike, likely accumulating 600+ft. of vertical gain over the entire hike.

6 miles for day 1 (start hike at 2pm, arrive in time to begin then)

5.5 miles for day 2

- Water is available at the campsites.
- There is a bathroom at the trailhead and at the campsite.
- Hike moves through various terrain with some steep, rocky sections.


Our group will stay together at all times. There will be plenty of free time once we arrive at camp to hang out, read, etc.

Previous backpacking experience is not required, but you will be responsible for providing your own gear and food. Refer to the graphic below for a packing list of items you should/may want to bring.
