KA-Yak Attack

Grab a paddle, summon your inner water warrior, and splash off into the adventure of the week. Join our Rec Kayaking Session with Haw River Canoe & Kayak and glide across the water like a true adventure hero. You’ll learn cool new skills, explore hidden corners of the lake, and maybe even have a fun friendly paddle challenge with your friends.
No experience needed- a kayak is calling your name!

Meet at Saxapahaw Lake Paddled Access

This session is open to youth ages 8 and up, as well as adventurous adults. Adults may be asked to offer light assistance during the program. Haw River Canoe & Kayaks will provide each participant with a kayak and a life jacket, and life jackets must be worn at all times.

We will launch and return at the Saxapahaw Lake Paddle Access dock, traveling upriver to explore nature along the Haw before paddling back. The route has no noticeable current, no motorboat traffic, and no hidden rocks beneath the surface.

Participants should be physically able to enter and exit a kayak and paddle independently. Haw River staff will lead a safety briefing, teach basic paddling skills, and assist with getting in and out of the boats. Once on the water, everyone will remain in small groups.

Wear comfortable, durable outdoor clothing and closed-toe shoes that can get muddy. Bring sunscreen and water to stay hydrated.
